Natali Felicia Bergqvist is an artist, a songwriter, and a composer. Growing up close to the theater and stage, Natali didn't always want to step into the spotlight herself. What happened on stage was meant to be observed and narrated, and music became a natural medium for that form of expression. With a background in gospel choir, her music often deviates from the typical pop formula, capturing a cinematic quality that offers listeners a glimpse into Natali's world.
It all started with open mics in Stockholm and continued to grow. In 2015, she released the songs Used to Be and Easy Ride, both of which gained international attention and led to a long-term collaboration with producer Andreas Grube, culminating in the release of her debut album Wrong Era in 2018. Over the past two years, Natali has been working on new music and composing for projects such as the Swedish TV series Bäckström (Brave New World, Strangers) and for international film and TV, in collaboration with American composer and producer Eric Rosse (Tori Amos).
Natali has developed a soundscape that intertwines the expansive with the profound, the clear with the mysterious. Currently, she is releasing the song Dream of You, which introduces new music from Natali set for release in the fall of 2020. Dream of You is a song that Natali has lived with for a long time. Unlike others, it needs time to settle, allowing the words to resonate deeply in the body before being sung. A farewell, melancholic and gentle.
“I often hear that I’m sensitive and driven by emotion, which may sound strange at first, but I’ve come to understand that my sensitivity comes from curiosity and a desire to listen, which at times leaves me feeling raw.” Dream of You is pop that dares to be raw. Natali says: "It’s the opposite of dark dreams, yet still a friend to The Mamas & the Papas' Dream a Little Dream of Me."
